running on empty

My nights have been more sleepless than restful lately. Though, when I do manage to fall asleep – with one sprawled out pup across my legs and ankles and next to another furnace of a dog – it tends to still be restless and full of dreams interrupted by aching hips and legs, internal punches and kicks from the little one, and my wonderful husband’s sporadic blanket robbing. This chapter of my life is intriguing and exciting, while simultaneously being completely exhausting – YES! It is a whirlwind that I am fully embracing!

In the meantime, we are preparing for our annual cross-country drive.

I’m looking forward to seeing family and friends, but the drive can be exhausting – 2,000 miles of roadway from Colorado to Pennsylvania. This year, thankfully, I will not be working on a thesis. With that completed and finally behind me, I will keep the screen closed for most of the drive and focus more on documenting the trip and the sites with my camera in hand.

Last year’s ride had some great snapshots, but I’m hoping this year will bring something new…

If you’re up for it, join me in our travels! I’ll be updating my blog while we’re away and sharing fresh photos daily via instagram and twitter.

Until next time…

PS! On a photography note – – We will be starting our drive in a little over a week, so if you were thinking about purchasing any photography prints or notecards for the holiday season, now would be the time! Check out my Etsy Store and if you feel inspired to support my work and purchase a print or notecards for friends/family/yourself, I’ll add an expedited delivery to your order 🙂
