the river is calling but the trails grabbed me first

I have lived in the San Luis Valley for a year and I am still blown away by the landscape, waters, and people who live and visit this place.

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the 12 Hours of Penitence annual mountain bike race in Penitente Canyon. The race was a huge success and I look forward to its return for many years to come…here’s a preview of the riders who endured twelve hours of rocky, unforgiving, high alpine desert mountain biking all for the sake of, well, riding.
